Frequently Asked Questions:

Application & Selection

  1. Q: Who can apply for Leap Year?

A: Can refer to the Eligibility Criteria in the Leap Year Terms & Conditions document available in this document.

  1. Q: When do applications open?

A: Applications open August 19, 2025. Applications close on 31st August 2025

  1. Q: What type of person are you looking for in Leap Year candidates?
A: We're looking for authentic storytellers, not perfect travelers. Our ideal candidates are working professionals who feel stuck in routine, have compelling personal stories, and possess natural camera presence with proven content creation skills. Most importantly, we want people who can navigate new cultures with genuine respect and curiosity, and have the tenacity to sustain 12 months of intensive documentation of their travel journey and personal growth.

  2. Q: Do you prefer candidates with extensive travel experience?
A: Not necessarily. While some travel experience is helpful, we're more interested in your mindset, adaptability, and willingness to learn than your passport stamps. Some of the most compelling transformation stories come from people stepping outside their comfort zone for the first time.

  3. Q: What if I don't have a large social media following?
A: Follower count isn't the main factor that is considered. We're looking for quality content creation skills, authentic engagement, and natural storytelling ability. A smaller, genuine audience often indicates more authentic content than inflated follower numbers. Focus on showcasing your personality and creative abilities rather than your social media metrics.
